Scope of Work

Here is our agree upon SOW

Entrance/Exit Lobby

​

  • Dust Mop Floor - Daily

  • Auto Wash Floor (Swing Machine if necessary)- Daily

  • Damp Mop Floor - Daily

  • Remove gum and stickers from Floor and Carpet- Daily

  • Vacuum all Matting as required by Manager- Daily

  • Steam clean all store owned Matting- Weekly (May to Oct Inclusive)

  • Steam clean all store owned Matting- Semi-Weekly (Nov to Apr Inclusive)

  • Clean cart area front, pulling back several carts to check floor condition. Clean constitutes mopping or vacuuming area to remove all dirt and soils - Daily

  • Clean entire cart area, pulling back ALL carts, (Arrange best time with mgr.) Clean constitutes mopping or vacuuming area to remove all dirt and soils. Carts to be pulled out weekly by store staff before they leave at night. Cleaners are to mop area and detail return carts when completed. - Weekly

  • Burnish Floor- Daily

  • Deep scrub floor and recoat as necessary to maintain HIGH GLOSS shine- Monthly or as required

  • Strip Floor (seal, refinish 8 to 10 coats minimum)- Annually or as required

  • Ensure there are no splash marks on baseboards, fixtures and window sills – Daily

 

Exit Aisle (past checkouts)

  • Dust Mop Floor- Daily

  • Wash Floor with Auto Scrubber- Daily

  • Damp Mop Floor edges and corners- Daily

  • Remove gum and stickers from floor- Daily

  • Burnish Floor- Daily

  • Ensure there are no splash marks on display baseboards- Daily

  • Sweep and Damp Mop Floor under magazine racks/open shelving - Daily

  • Deep scrub floor and recoat as necessary to maintain HIGH GLOSS shine- Monthly or as required

  • Strip Floor (seal, refinish 8 to 10 coats minimum)- Annually or as required

 

Checkouts

  • Dust Mop Floor- Daily

  • Damp Mop Floor edges and corners - Daily

  • Remove gum and stickers from floor- Daily

  • Burnish Floor- Daily

  • Sweep and Damp Mop Floor under magazine racks/candy racks- Daily

  • Ensure there are no splash marks on display baseboards- Daily

  • Corner chrome bumpers, shelf bumpers, kick plates and pillars- Daily

  • Deep scrub floor and recoat as necessary to maintain HIGH GLOSS shine- Monthly or as required

  • Strip Floor (seal, refinish 8 to 10 coats minimum)- Annually or as required

 

Front Aisle (front of checkouts)

  • Dust Mop Floor- Daily

  • Wash floor with Auto Scrubber- Daily

  • Damp Mop Floor edges and corners- Daily

  • Remove gum and stickers from floor- Daily

  • Burnish Floor- Daily

  • Sweep and Damp Mop Floor under movable racks- Weekly

  • Ensure there are no splash marks on display baseboards- Daily

  • Corner chrome bumpers, shelf bumpers, kick plates and pillars- Monthly

  • Deep scrub floor and recoat as necessary to maintain HIGH GLOSS shine- Monthly or as required

  • Strip Floor (seal, refinish 8 to 10 coats minimum)- Annually or as required

 

Sales Aisles

  • Dust Mop Floor- Daily

  • Wash Floor with Auto Scrubber- Daily

  • Damp Mop Floor edges and corners- Daily

  • Remove gum and stickers from floor- Daily

  • Burnish Floor- Daily

  • Sweep / Dust Mop, Vacuum and Wash underneath shelving (Not needed if there are kickplates) - Weekly

  • Wash underneath shelving - Weekly

  • Ensure there are no splash marks on display baseboards- Daily

  • Deep scrub floor and recoat as necessary to maintain HIGH GLOSS shine- Monthly or as required

  • Strip Floor (seal, refinish 8 to 10 coats minimum)- Annually or as required

 

Managers Office and Cash Office

  • Dust and Damp Mop Floor (Arrange best time with Mgr)- Weekly

  • Remove gum and stickers from floor- Weekly

  • Ensure there are no splash marks from baseboards and door frames- Daily

  • Deep scrub floor and recoat as necessary to maintain HIGH GLOSS shine- Monthly or as required

  • Strip Floor (seal, refinish 8 to 10 coats minimum)- Annually or as required

 

Lunch Room/Meeting Room/Staff Washrooms 

  • Dust and Damp Mop Floor (Arrange best time with Manager)- Daily

  • Remove gum and stickers from floor- Daily

  • Clean Urinals, Toilets, Washbasins, Chrome Fixtures, Vanity Counters- Daily

  • Clean Mirrors and Doors- Daily

  • Spot Clean Walls and Partitions- Daily

  • Ensure there are no splash marks on baseboards and door frames- Daily

  • Deep scrub floor and recoat as necessary to maintain HIGH GLOSS shine- Monthly or as required

  • Strip Floor (seal, refinish 8 to 10 coats minimum)- Annually or as required

  • Empty all garbage cans in vestibules, offices, lunch rooms, public, and staff washrooms- Daily

 

Stairs/Hallways/Smoke Shop/Community

  • Room/Pharmacy/ Starbucks (Safeway only)

  • Dust and Damp Mop Floor, Hallways and Stairs- Daily

  • Ensure there are no splash marks on baseboards and door frames- Daily

  • Deep scrub floor and recoat as necessary to maintain HIGH GLOSS shine- Monthly or as required

  • Strip Floor (seal, refinish 8 to 10 coats minimum)- Annually or as required

 

Washrooms (Public)

  • Sweep and Damp Mop Floor (Burnish if VCT tile)- Daily

  • Remove gum and stickers from floor- Daily 

  • Clean Urinals, Toilets, Washbasins, Chrome Fixtures, Vanity Counters- Daily

  • Spot Clean Walls and Partitions- Daily

  • Clean Mirrors and Doors- Daily

  • Ensure there are no splash marks on baseboards and door frames- Daily

  • Deep clean floor (recoat VCT ONLY) to maintain HIGH GLOSS shine- Monthly or as required

  • Strip Floor (VCT refinish 8 to 10 coats) Ceramic/Epoxy Deep Clean/Scrub- Annually or as required

  • Clean all wall surfaces - Weekly

  • Refill , all soap and paper dispensers- Daily 

  • Empty all garbage cans - Daily

 

Backroom 

  • Dust Mop or Sweep Floor (Arrange best time with Manager)- Daily

  • Auto Scrub Floors (Floor Contractor do not move stock) – Weekly 

 

Prep Area Deli (Ceramic, Terrazzo, Stone Core, Concrete)

  • Dust Mop Floor – Daily

  • Auto Scrub/Wash With Approved Cleaner - Ecolab Degreaser – Daily 

  • Damp Mop Floor (edges, Corners and under racking)- Daily

  • Floors that are VCT Scrub/Strip and Recoat (Minimum 8 to 10 coats). If floor is not VCT, they must be deep cleaned which entails the following:

 

Contractor to deep clean and pull the grease out of the floor and grout with approved chemicals.

Sobeys staff would move the equipment like tables, pallets racks etc. for example and anything that is non-permanent and/or not fixed. Sobeys staff will remove things back in the morning. Each store has choice on what they would like to move - Monthly

Prep Area Bakery (Ceramic, Terrazzo, Stone Core, Concrete)

  • Dust Mop Floor – Daily

  • Auto Scrub/Wash With Approved Cleaner - Ecolab Degreaser – Daily

  • Damp Mop Floor (edges, Corners and under racking)- Daily

  • For Safeway and ThriftFoods locations ONLY Vacuum Floor - HEPA filter vacuum required - Daily

  • Floors that are VCT Scrub/Strip and Recoat (Minimum 8 to 10 coats) If floor is not VCT, they must be deep cleaned which entails the following:

 

Contractor to deep clean and pull the grease out of the floor and grout with approved chemicals.

Additional Cleaning Contractor Responsibilities

  • Wet Floors Signs placed throughout store while Wet Work is being done- Daily

  • Contractor to meet with store Manager to review store conditions- Weekly

  • All Propane tanks to be removed from site nightly- Daily 

  • Emissions Test Propane Burnisher and post results (MANDATORY)- 4 Annually or as required

 

Note: It is the responsibility of the Contractor to move all racks, displays, on retail floors and prep areas, that are on wheels as required for cleaning.
